Hello, I'm James
I work as a project manager. I am a parent. An expat living in London, United Kingdom.
Several years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't in the plans for the long run. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning-by-doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Crest Prairie Haven
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site is here to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights gained from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something meaningful changes
This site is not:
- Not a tourism-board resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- An ordinary travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in United Kingdom goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
James
